If you have downloaded and successfully installed the OVPQ editor software to your computer, you can begin updating or creating new documents for your organisations vessels.
First of all open the editor software and login with your OVID account credentials. Once logged in you will arrive at the OVPQ editors home page:
This will list any documents you create in the document list on the left hand side of the page. These documents are stored locally on your computer. On the right hand side of the screen you will find the "News and Announcements" section where important OCIMF related updates are posted.
To begin creating or updating an OVPQ document, click on the "Create OVPQ" button:
A window will then appear, which will enable you to select the vessel you wish to update:
Select the vessel you wish to update from the drop down list at the top of the window, then click on the "Create" button.
If there is already an existing OVPQ document in the OVID database for this vessel, you will see this notification:
If you are wishing to update the current document, choose "Yes" and a copy of the current published OVPQ is downloaded to your editor from OVID. By Choosing "No" you will create a blank document which you can then populate and publish.
If you choose "Yes" and download the current document you will first be prompted to confirm your OVID account and login again:
You will then be taken to the document which can be edited:
Enter/update the details you need by working through each section on the left hand side of the page. Clicking on each section expands/reduces the points to be completed. Once you have completed your document and you are happy with it's contents, click on the "Publish" button on the menu bar at the top of the screen:
When you click on the button you will be prompted again to enter your login details:
Enter your password and then click on submit. You will then see a confirmation to advise you that the document has been submitted. This will then be added to the vessel record in the OVID database and will be available for members to view. It will replace any previously available OVPQ document.
