As an operator/vessel manager, you have the ability to make an inspection request that is sent to submitting members. The request can then be picked up by any interested member to potentially commission an inspection on your chosen vessel.
To begin creating an inspection request, click on the vessels tab in OVID and search for the required vessel:
Once you have located the vessel record, open it and then click on the "Create Inspection Request" button at the bottom of the page:
The next screen allows you to begin the creation process, please read the notes on the welcome screen and click on the "Next" button below:
On the next page you will need to fill out the basic inspection details such as the location and the proposed inspector (if known), then click on "Next":
The next screen allows you to add any additional information you feel would be beneficial along with any supporting documents. Once completed click on "next":
The final screen allows you to submit the request to OVID, click on the "Submit Request" button:
Once submitted the request will then be visible to submitting members. Any members interested in commissioning the inspection can then potentially accept the request and begin the process.
Please note that the request remains active for 14 days. If no submitting member expresses an interest in commissioning an inspection the request is automatically closed.
