OVID Operator - Adding A New Vessel Record To OVID

If you need to create a new record for a vessel that is not already listed in OVID, login and click on the "Vessels" link at the top of the page. This then takes you to the vessels page. 

Click on the "Create Vessel" button as shown on the top right hand side of the screen:

At the next screen you are then prompted for the Vessels IMO number or registration number: 

You can also enter an additional identifier on the same page (this is optional), to do this choose the registry type and enter the relevant registration number: 

The next page is the main vessel creation screen:

Enter the details of the vessel into this screen. Enter as many details as you can to ensure the vessel is represented as accurately as possible in the database. Once completed, click on the "Create Vessel" button at the bottom of the screen. You should then be able to return to the "Vessels" page and see the vessel record listed. The record will now be ready for you to complete an OVPQ if required.
