Inspection requests are designed to allow operators who are potentially looking for an inspection to take place on a vessel to promote it's availability to members.
To access these requests click on the "Inspection Request" link on the menu bar at the top of the OVID homepage, followed by "Inspection Requests" in the menu:
This will take you to the main inspection requests page. Here you will see several categories:
You can click on each category type to see requests that are in each state:
Each category shows four states a request can be in at any one time. They are as follows:
Available to Members
This is where new requests begin. Once a request is submitted it is placed here for members to view and potentially adopt with a view to carrying out an inspection. A member can open an individual request from here and adopt it for their organisation. A request is available for 14 days once it has been submitted and remains here until it is adopted by a member.
Under Member Review
Once a request is adopted, it is moved into this section. At this stage the request is undergoing assessment to ensure an inspection is viable on the subject vessel. At this stage they may be in the process of obtaining further details of the vessel concerned and possibly in discussions with the operator before making a final decision.
Member Accepted
Once a request is accepted by a member it is listed here. Once it reaches this stage a member is ready to commission an inspection and and will look to make arrangements with the operator and appoint a suitable inspector.
No Action
If a request has not been picked up by any member within 14 days, it is deemed to be out of date and is added to this section. The request is no longer active and the operator will need to make another if they still seek an inspection.
