If you are unable disassociate a vessel from your organisations OVID account because the "Disassociate" button is missing there are two possible causes:
1. The vessel status is set to "Laid Up"
If you normally make edits to vessel records and particulars but now find you are unable to do so with a particular vessel it is likely to have been set to "Laid up" status. If this has occurred you will not be able to disassociate it as the vessel record is effectively frozen and the "Disassociate" button is not available. To correct this, you will need to remove the laid up status. To check if the vessel is laid up, you will need open the vessel record within OVID and then click on the "Vessel Actions - OVPQ and Data Updates" tab:
If the vessel is laid up, you will see "Cancel Vessel Laid Up" on the right of the screen, click on this text to cancel the status. Once completed the disassociate button should then be available.
2. Permissions not set correctly in your OVID user account.
If the vessel is not laid up it is likely that you do not have the required permissions to edit vessel details. To get your permissions updated you will need to contact whoever is the OVID administrator within your organisation to request you account permissions are updated.
