OVID Inspector - Installing the OVID Editor software for the first time

If you are a first time user of the OVID editor software, or you are installing on a new computer this will briefly explain the steps to successfully install the editor software onto your computer. 

Please run through the following in the order shown: 

1.Download and install the Adobe Air installer followed by the editor installer. To do this, log in to your OVID account at https://www.ocimf-ovid.org/Pages/LoginPage.aspx It is best to obtain the files from the OCIMF OVID website as the latest version is always available from here. At your homepage you should see a link to the Resources area in the bottom right hand corner: 

Click on the link to open the Resources page, if you then click on the "Software" tab you should then see both the Adobe Air and the OVID Report Editor listed, click on the "Download" button on the right hand side of the screen next to each to download: 

Please ensure that you download and run Adobe Air first.

Once the downloads have completed, go to your "Downloads" folder. You should then see the both installers listed.

Double click on each installer in turn beginning with Adobe Air then the editor and run through the onscreen instructions (this is usually very simple and just requires you to click on next/continue and an "install" button). 

2. Once the installation of the editor is completed a shortcut should then appear on your desktop which should look like this: 

The editor should now open if you double click on this icon.
