Overview
If the port you need is not available in the HVPQ port dropdown, OCIMF Support can add it for you. This article explains what information to send so the port can be added on the first request.
What you need to provide
Please provide all three of the following so the port can be added accurately:
- Port Name
- Port of Authority Name (this is usually the same as the Port Name)
- UN LOCODE for the port
Please note: if any of these three details is missing or unclear, we will need to come back to you before the port can be added.
Step 1 - Confirm the UN LOCODE
Look up the UN LOCODE for the port you want added. UN LOCODE is the United Nations Code for Trade and Transport Locations, a five-character code (for example, GBLON for London) that uniquely identifies the port. Using the correct UN LOCODE up front prevents the wrong port being added.
Step 2 - Confirm the Port of Authority Name
In most cases the Port of Authority Name is the same as the Port Name. If they differ for your port (for example, where a port is operated under a different authority name), make a note of both so they can be recorded correctly.
Step 3 - Raise a support request to OCIMF
Raise a support request by emailing OCIMF Support (support@ocimf.org) and include the Port Name, Port of Authority Name and UN LOCODE in the request body. There are no attachments needed for this request.
What happens after you submit your request
Once your request is received:
- OCIMF Support validates the port details and UN LOCODE
- The port is added to the dropdown in the online HVPQ editor
- OCIMF Support confirms by email once the port is available
Once the port has been added, select it in the online editor.
Still need help?
If you cannot find the UN LOCODE for your port, or you are unsure whether the port already exists under a different name in the dropdown, contact OCIMF Support and include as much detail as you have so we can investigate.
