This article explains the steps required if you are a vessel operator looking to register to use SIRE and begin populating the database with vessel data. It also points you to other articles that will explain how to carry out certain steps in greater detail:
1. Registration to access SIRE
If your organisation has not used SIRE before, you will need to complete an online registration process in order to obtain credentials that will allow you to login to SIRE. Please see this article here which explains how to access the registration page. Once your registration has been completed then submitted, it will be reviewed by OCIMF. Once approved, you will then receive login credentials.
2. Begin adding vessel data to your account.
Once you have valid operator credentials, you can then begin populating your account with data on your vessels that you wish to be made available to SIRE submitting companies. First of all you will need to add the main identification details for each vessel. This article explains the required steps to add each individual vessel to the SIRE database.
3. Adding vessel particulars.
Once you have vessel details added, it is advisable to complete and publish a particulars document for each vessel. The easiest way to do this is to use the online editor that is built in to SIRE. The article here explains how to complete and publish a particulars document for each vessel.
4. TMSA
In addition to adding your vessel you may also wish to create a Tanker Management and Self Assessment (TMSA) document for your organisation. If you wish to use TMSA please note that a fee is payable.
